What this place is for

Honest, first-hand reviews of gear, and corrections that make the numbers right. Everything else on the site exists to support those two things.

Please

• Review gear you have actually used, and say what happened on the water.
• Review one size at a time. A kite feels different at 7 m and at 12 m, so a review is about the size you rode.
• Say so if you work for a brand, sell the gear, or were given it. It does not disqualify your opinion, but readers should know.
• Fix a wrong spec with the pencil next to it, and add the source if you can. A checked source is what lets us mark it as verified.

Please do not

• Insult, harass or pile on other people.
• Post spam, advertising, or links to shops, including affiliate links.
• Write fake or bought reviews: reviews for gear you did not use, reviews in return for money or gear, brands posing as riders, or marking a competitor down.
• Share other people’s personal information.
• Post off-topic content.
• Post anything illegal, or photos and text you have no right to use. Only upload photos you took yourself.

Manufacturer ratings

Many gear pages carry a rating tagged Manufacturer. That is the figures the brand itself publishes for its own gear, entered by us, so a rider has a starting point. It is not a rider’s review and it is never counted as one.

How we handle problems

Every review and comment has a Report button; choose the reason and an administrator looks at it. Some words are also held for a look automatically. Depending on how serious it is, we remove the post, give a warning, suspend the account for a while, or ban it. A banned account can no longer post reviews or join discussions, and it is marked as banned on its profile and next to what it wrote.

Illegal content, and rights holders

If something on the site breaks the law, or uses your text or photo without permission, write to kitecomparecrew@gmail.com or use the contact form. Send the link to the page, say what is wrong and why, and give an address we can reach you at. We look at it promptly, remove or change what has to go, and tell you what we did.

Before showing a brand’s product photos, we tried to get in contact with the brand to ask for permission. If our message never reached the right person, please pass this on to whoever looks after your photos or press material and ask them to write to us. If you represent a brand and would rather we didn’t show your photos, write to us and we’ll take them down.

Your content

What you write stays yours. By posting it you allow us to show it on the site. You can edit or delete your own reviews and comments at any time.
