Just browsing

You can read everything without an account. The site counts how often a piece of gear is opened and what is typed or filtered in the finder, to learn what riders look for. Those counts are stored without your name, your IP address or any identifier, so they cannot be traced back to you. Visits from administrators and from crawlers are not counted. The site sets no advertising or tracking cookies and uses no third-party analytics.

Our hosting provider receives your IP address and browser details in its server logs when a page is requested; that is needed to deliver the page and keep it secure.

If you create an account

We store your e-mail address, your username and display name, and your password (only as a hash, never in readable form). You may add a profile picture and a short bio. Anything you post — reviews, scores, review photos, comments, follows, corrections and feedback — is stored with your account, and reviews, comments and your profile are public under your username.

After you sign in, a cookie keeps you signed in. It is strictly necessary for the account to work and is removed when you sign out. We use your e-mail address to send the messages the account needs, such as confirming it or resetting a password.

If you write to us

The contact form stores your name (if given), your e-mail address and your message so we can answer. We also send you one confirmation mail with a copy of what you wrote, through our e-mail delivery service. We keep your message as long as needed to deal with it. Legal basis: our interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Visitor counts

We count visits and page views with Vercel Web Analytics. It does not use cookies and does not follow you from one site to another or build a profile of you. We use it to see which pages are read, not who reads them. Legal basis: our interest in knowing how the site is used (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Photos and logos from manufacturers

Many product photos and brand logos are loaded directly from the manufacturers’ own servers. When a page shows them, your browser contacts those servers and they see your IP address, as they would on any website. We have no control over what they log.

Who processes the data for us

The site runs on Vercel (application hosting) and Supabase (database, sign-in and file storage; data stored in [to be completed]) and an e-mail delivery service ([to be completed]) that sends the sign-up, password-reset and contact confirmation mails. They process data on our behalf under data-processing agreements. Where they are based outside the EU, transfers rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict how we use it, or to receive it in a portable format, and you can object to processing that rests on our legitimate interest.
