About us
What this site is, and why it exists.
Ride the Elements is a hobby project, built and run by a small group of friends who ride. Our idea is in the tagline: find your gear, and trust your tribe. We wanted one place where you can find the right kite and see what the riders who fly it really think, instead of piecing it together from forum threads and brand marketing pages. Nobody here works for a brand, and nobody is paid to write, rank, or feature anything. There is no company behind this.
Every kite’s real numbers — sizes, weights, prices, wind ranges — sit next to what actual riders think of it, sourced and checked the same way for every brand. A manufacturer’s own published figures get a place too, clearly labeled as theirs, so nobody has to take a spec sheet on faith or dig through a forum post to find out if a kite runs light or heavy for its size.
If something here is wrong, we want to know — that’s the whole point. Every property on every kite can be corrected by anyone, and an admin checks it against the source before it counts as verified.
None of this works without riders willing to sit down and write up what a kite is actually like — thank you to everyone who takes that time. The only thing we ask in return is honesty: no overselling a kite because it cost a lot, no exaggerating a flaw to make a point. Just what actually happened on the water.
